Registering & Claiming your welcome bonuses

Signing up with Sugar is easy, as a big button is clearly displayed on the landing page. Card details are not necessarily needed to sign up, but if you want to play any of the games you’ll need to make a deposit. When I signed up I deposited £1 via paypal which got me a £5 welcome bonus, and 30 free coins. At the time of writing the other 1st deposit bonuses are pretty sweet too. Deposit £5, get £15 free, £10 and get £35 free or £20 and get £70 as well as 10 tickets to Payday Bingo where you have a chance of winning win up to £10K!

The theme for the website is sweets and candy, which is shown off by the colourful and high-quality background image. The logo also has a sweet incorporated within it. The colour scheme is bright pink generally, but as there is a fair amount of white space the site isn’t too overpowering in terms of colour.

Refer a friend promotion

If you love playing at Sugar Bingo, why not get your friends involved? If you’re a funded player you’ll get a £10 bonus when your friend deposits and wagers at least £10. If you’re a VIP member, you’ll get a £15 bonus!

The game lobby is a pop-out, but doesn’t take you directly to the bingo lobby, which is on a tab within the window. Once there you have a choice of seven different live bingo rooms, or a variety of jackpots which depend on time of day. Several of the games are quite low stake (1 or 2p) but I did not notice any free games while I was playing. The game interface itself is quite a standard layout, with the ticket window on the left and a chat window on the right. The caller voice is a young male voice, quite over the top but well recorded. This also differs from some of the other voiceovers used, which is refreshing.

The chat interface is nice and clear, and chatters can customise their font size, type and colour, to make each person stand out from the next. I found the chat host quite annoying while I played as she kept over-using stars and icons which meant I could hardly see what she was actually saying. However, there were regular chat games available and plenty of participation – I played a few days after the site launched and it was already clearly proving popular!

What can you play?

Free play

Sugar Bingo doesn’t currently offer any free bingo as such. But their delicious daily delights as they call it gives you free coins on your first visit of the day to their games lobby. They also offer hourly treats where you can win free coins every hour. Once you have enough coins you can then use them to buy bingo tickets.

Any Extras?

Initially I assumed that the coins which you are given on sign-up can be used on the slot machines, but this was not the case. Instead, they are designed to work like a loyalty scheme – each hour you have an opportunity to play for more coins, and 1,000 coins can be redeemed for a £1 of cash to use on the bingo and slots. The slots themselves are quite diverse and can be played with your deposited money. If you wish to deposit any more then the bonuses are ranked by “sweetness”, ranging from £3 to £12 and ten tickets to the “Money Train” jackpot. They have a few tempting jackpost including the Lucky Penny that as the name suggests you can buy a ticket for 1p to have a chance of winning a £5,000 jackpot.

Pros and Cons

Friendly chat room
I loved the theme
While they don’t have a no deposit bonus, they do have some pretty good offers starting from a £5 deposit.

No free balance/try-before-you-buy incentive
I felt that after “bingo” has been called, the games takes a while to move on, which is a little dull if you didn’t win.
